It's 60 degrees under cloudy skies at 8:58 AM at our Leland office. The barometer is at 1009 millibars (29.8 inches) and rising with a relative humidity of 98%. We had an absolute deluge last night which might act to extend the fall color when it arrives. The forecast for today calls a chance of morning rain with northwest winds at 5-15 bringing some afternoon clearing and a high around 70. For the weekend, expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid 70s and a chance of morning rain (30%) on Saturday and partly sunny skies Sunday and a chance of afternoon rain (40%). That's an accumulated 130% chance of "not rain" so don't let it ruin your weekend plans!
Sep 4, 2008: Cloudy, 60 and heavy evening rain (61/54)
Bouy 45002 in Lake Michigan is located halfway between North Manitou Island and Washington Island in Lake Michigan. It provides wind and wave data. Also check out Michigan Sea Grant Coastwatch for water temps (the "early evening" images in their archive will give you a better idea of actual temps during peaks swimming hours).
Weather Underground is just about as old as the internet (the first net weather service) and is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sometimes the above banner will show personal weather system data from Leland and sometimes it comes from a vineyard on Old Mission (it tells you which in the top left of the page it links to).

The Glen Arbor Art Association welcomes singer/songwriter Annie Gallup to the Studio Stage/Lake Street Studios (in case of rain, location is Glen Arbor Town Hall) this Wednesday (July 23) at 8 PM. Head over to the Glen Arbor Art Association web site or call 334-6112 for details!
Annie grew up in Michigan and taught herself to play guitar, copping licks from old Mississippi John Hurt, Doc Watson and Dave Van Ronk albums that she found at the public library. She is the winner of many songwriting competitions, including Kerrville New Folk, and has performed at concert venues throughout North America since 1994, driving enough miles to make it to the moon and almost back.
