Poison Ivy!
It worth a moment to get to know Rhus Radicans (poison ivy). This distinctive, three leafed plant (colored green, red or brown) has caused more than a little discomfort. It thrives in many areas of the lakeshore, especially on the fringes of woods and all parts of the plant (even the pollen!) can cause a nasty rash. The best protection is to wear high boots or socks and watch where you walk. If you have contacted it, scrub thoroughly with Fels Naptha or some other non-oily soap to remove the oils.
