News from the Week

Our top story was the mock election at Leland School, where Leland government class students gave speeches on the behalf of candidates for many of the races (who also spoke). The event attended by students from Leelanau & Traverse City Schools and was webcast live. It will be rebroadcast on Monday at Absolute Michigan. Other features included a nice fall photo of the Day Barns and some history by George Weeks, a feature on the Farmland millage and a nice article on Chris & Jody Treter of Leelanau-based Higher Grounds Coffee.
