Glen Lake may become 2nd out of formula district in county
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that Glen Lake School district may join Northport in relying only on non-homestead property tax revenue to fund its $6.7 million annual budget. The change is mainly due to the preponderance of second homes and parkland and could reduce the district’s 2006-07 anticipated deficit from $184,000 to $75,000 or $80,000.
