July 23, 2009/in almanac, backgrounds, Leelanau, leelanau.com, news, weather

Stories from the week started with the Sugar Loaf Vision, where Cleveland and Centerville Townships, the Leelanau County Planning Department, and many concerned citizens met to discuss the future of the Sugar Loaf Property. Another concern that was focused on, was the state funding cuts to Early Childhood Education and how it impacts the Leelanau Children’s Center, the article also highlighted the LCC’s annual Pig Roast. A couple of great events featured were the Art Leelanau Benefit & Exhibition and the 5th Annual Traverse City Film Festival. On Friday, we got a little playful with this cute Otter photo by SRJacobs.
