Charting a Course for Alligator Hill’s Recovery

March 19, 2016/in environment, Featured, glen arbor, hiking, Leelanau, michigan, nonprofit, sleeping bear dunes, video

Nature Change is a new multimedia magazine developed by the Conservation Resource Alliance as a cooperative venture for nonprofits in our region who are involved in protecting and managing the lands and waters.

In Forest Blow Down on Alligator Hill – Which Path to Recovery? they explain that the August 2 super storm that pummeled the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore did its most visible damage on Alligator Hill, just west of downtown Glen Arbor. National Park staff reopened most of the Alligator Hill hiking and ski trail before Christmas. Click to the article to read more, and thanks to the Leelanau Conservancy for sharing this!

Here’s a cool video
