Fun Filled History Lessons from the Empire Area Museum
The Empire Area Museum will be conducting a series of Fun Filled History Lessons over the next three Thursdays at the Empire Township Hall. Starting tonight, Thursday, August 6, each “Big Screen Video” will begin at 7:30 and last about one and a half hours . The dates are August 6th, 13th and 20th, 2009.
The programs will include, in order: Aug. 6th, Empire’s Unsolved Mystery “The Roen Story”. Aug. 13th, The Big Wheel Story and History of the Empire Lumber. Aug 20th, Empire’s Anchor Recovery, The Sinking of the Dorsey Steamer in Glen Lake, and “Many Faces of Old Glory” by Vane Scott.
It is a great opportunity to meet with some summer friends, munch some popcorn and learn about this area’s great heritage. We encourage all newcomers as well as the old natives to come out and share your thoughts after each presentation. There will be a freewill offering. Any questions, look for posters or call Dave at 326-5519
