News from the Week

The top story was (I guess) a couple week old feature on Leelanau’s & Michigan’s wine and wine tourism industry from the Chicago Tribune. It has some great information on how the wine business is growing, talks to some folks in the biz and includes the tidbit that nearly half of the Michigan wines sold come from Leelanau County.

In addition to a lot of stories about events (be sure to read the Pow Wow article because there’s some interesting links) there was a nice profile of the village of Maple City from the Glen Arbor Sun.

The Week’s Weather

There was a lot of sun, enough wind to kick up some decent-sized body surfing waves and nights cool enough for great sleeping. All in all, about what you can expect for mid to late August (which is for my money the best time of the summer).
