Leelanau Almanac for the Week of January 11 – 17, 2007
Empire Beach in Winter by Jim Sorbie
Jim writes Empire Beach, not the chamber of commerce photo though! Taken a couple of years ago during a more “normal” winter.
News from the Week
The top story was news that the Glen Lake School district may join Northport in relying only on non-homestead property tax revenue to fund its $6.7 million annual budget. Other stories included news that Traverse City’s city commissioners voted unanimously to back the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and also a report on the status of the sale of the county governmental complex in Leland.
