Leelanau Almanac for the Week of June 1 – June 7, 2006

Iris in the Rain

The Week’s News

The week’s top story was the collective performance of Leelanau teams in spring sports. Glen Lake hurdler Bryan Sevensma capped a perfect season by setting a new meet mark in the 300 hurdles in the Division 4 state meet. He also barely missed another record in winning the 110 hurdles in 14.8 (by .16 seconds). Suttons Bay’s girls soccer won districts and heads to the regional final tonight. Other winners were the Glen Lake baseball team and St Marys’ softball.

Other news included a look at the finances of TC Senator Jason Allen and a nifty photo of an Empire field.
