The Leelanau Peninsula “Wine on the Water Festival” takes place this Saturday, July 20 from 1-7PM in Suttons Bay. The Grand Traverse Insider reports:

Sponsored by the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the Wine on the Water Festival, (formerly the Leelanau Peninsula Wine, Food and Music Festival), will feature samples from the peninsula’s award-winning wineries, distilleries and breweries as well as food from Leelanau’s restaurants.

Talented local artists will offer their work for viewing and for sale, and live musical performances by the Sour Belly Trio (1:30-2:15 p.m.), Ron Getz and Ron Hernandez (2:45-3:45 p.m.) and the Thirsty Perch Blues Band (4:15-6:30 p.m.) will entertain visitors.

Though it now has a new name, this summer celebration of wine, food and music has been enjoyed for many years. It originally started in Northport as the Annual Northport Wine Fest, and then changed names and locations and found a new home in Suttons Bay as the Leelanau Peninsula Wine, Food and Music Festival.

Now the location remains the same, but the name has been changed to better reflect what the Chamber feels to be the best of the Leelanau Peninsula: its impressive array of wineries and vineyards and its picturesque waterfront views.

Tickets for the event are $15 per person, which includes a commemorative wine glass and two tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets may be purchased at the event for $2 each. Ticket sales and additional tasting purchases all benefit the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

Learn more & purchase tickets (also available at the door) at leelanauchamber.com or on their Facebook.
