A guide to public beaches & public road ends in the village of Leland, Michigan. Be aware that public access on the road ends allows you to sit on the beach in an area 30′ to either side of the center of the road end.
Michigan law allows you to walk the beach up along Lake Michigan up to the mean high water mark.
Fudgie Beach
(aka Fischer Beach)
Fudgie Beach (Fischer Beach) is located along M-22 on North Lake Leelanau just before you reach Leland. It’s a popular spot for boaters to anchor!

Christmas Tree Beach
(aka South Beach or Reynolds Street Road End)
South Beach is a Lake Michigan beach formed by the public road end of Reynolds Street. Back in the fay, it was known as “Christmas Tree Beach” for the Leland Christmas tree which was located at the end of Reynolds street.

Hidden Beach
(aka Hickenloopers)
Hidden Beach is located on Lake Michigan at the end of Thompson Street in Leland. You can park there (along West street) or park at South Beach and walk a bit north.
Van’s Beach
North Beach is located just north of the Leland Harbor & Fishtown at the end of North street.

North Beach is located just north of the Leland Harbor & Fishtown at the end of North street.
Nedow’s Bay Beach
(aka Bartholomew Park )
Nedow’s Bay (Bartholomew Park) is a picnic and swimming area on located on North Lake Leelanau. It’s on Pearl Street – just down the hill from the Leland Lodge – and boasts a great swimming area and dock.
