Fond memories are what have always drawn Susan Eddy back to Mackinac Island for peaceful painting vacations. Eddy, a painter of Michigan landscapes, specializes in painting scenes from Mackinac Island. She has vacationed there since childhood, and has been a professional Mackinac artist for five years, selling paintings on the Island and by commission. Susan is a member of the Ann Arbor Art Center and has exhibited in Ann Arbor galleries. She has also exhibited in the Michigan Watercolor Society Annual show. While she studied drawing, acrylic painting, and watercolor in college, she chooses to paint with watercolors because they convey the Mackinac mood best. "Mackinac Island colors: lilac, cerulean blue, emerald green, and especially the blue found on the ceiling of the Grand Hotel's porch." "The medium is fluid, a bit unpredictable, and if you try to control it too much you take all of the fun out of it." Susan Eddy is a Michigan watercolorist from Ann Arbor. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with Fine Arts and Biology degrees. Her wishes as an artist are to provide a different kind of Mackinac souvenier, an image that may remind you of your vacation, honeymoon, or weekend get away. She hopes to give to you a memory to look at or a window to Mackinac when you're far away.
