Sugar Loaf Resort sold again!

December 7, 2020/in Featured, Homes & Real Estate, Leelanau, news, sugar loaf

OK, who bought Sugar Loaf??? Eric Carlson of the Leelanau Enterprise reports that Sugar Loaf has been sold:

The Leelanau County Register of Deeds today recorded the sale of Sugar Loaf Resort to a corporation known as SPV 45 LLC, which has ties to Leelanau County.

A warranty deed stamped Dec. 7, 2020 indicates that the Nevada corporation known as Sweet Bread LLC, headed by California real estate attorney and investor Jeff Katofsky, has transferred ownership of the long-closed and decaying ski resort to a Delaware corporation with a Michigan address.

SPV 45’s physical address is in Leland and is that of Leland Public School Board Treasurer Ross Satterwhite.

On Monday afternoon, Satterwhite provided the following statement to the Enterprise:
“Sugar Loaf was purchased by a private buyer. I helped the buyer evaluate the property, conduct due diligence and close the purchase. I am in the real estate advisory business and I often help investors with the purchase of complex real estate investments. I am not the buyer and I am not affiliated with the buyer financially or in any other manner. The buyer is a client who I am working for under contract.”

Stay tuned for updates & read more on the Leelanau Enterprise Facebook page.
