Leelanau isn’t looking ANYTHING like the above photo today. We have decided not to cooperate with this blatant violation of Spring. Remembering Jeff LambJeff took the photo above and the one to the right in Leelanau County. He passed away this week and was a friend, photographer and lover of Leelanau. I hope you have a chance to learn more about Jeff and view his Leelanau slideshow. Videos from Winter to Spring to the Moon … and back again Trish posted a flip-book of last Friday’s Super Moon rising over Suttons Bay. You can see more shots from around the state in the Super Moon slideshow from the Absolute Michigan photo group! The third video we’d like to share comes via the Glen Arbor Sun and it’s packed with springtime fun! More stories… On the Sugar Loaf front, Tom B (a forum member) has posted skisugarloaf.net and is seeking letters of support to help convince potential financial backers that Sugar Loaf is a good idea – tune in on the Sugar Loaf Blog for this and more! Explore the Sleeping Bear with the Sleeping Bear Dunes Visitors Bureau! There’s a lot of great stuff on Absolute Michigan and Michigan in Pictures, but in the interest of time, we’ll save it for next week!… If you’d like to sponsor Leelanau.com and our weekly emails, please contact us at lci@leelanau.com or call 231-421-1172. It’s 31 degrees under mostly sunny skies at 1:30 PM at Leelanau Coffee Roasting in Glen Arbor. The record high for a March 25th was a summery 78 degrees in 1945 with the low of -8 set in 1965. We’re not clear on the record snowfall for today, but we’re guessing that the 6-12″ that fell on Tuesday is in the running! Sun and upper 20s is forecast today through Sunday – a great weekend to get a little more winter. Click for the news & weather from last year! |
