Michigan in Pictures can help get your desktop background in sync with the Great Lakes state with a cool shot from Mosquito Beach in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It also featured the photo to the right of calm after the storm at Empire Bluffs/North Bar Lake.
Over on Absolute Michigan we reported on an agreement on the 2011 Michigan Budget. Kudos to our elected officials for not running it up to the 11th hour again!

It’s an even 70 degrees under sunny skies at 1:45 PM at Leelanau Coffee Roasting in Glen Arbor. The record high for a September 10th was 96 degrees in 1931, but we came closer to the record low of 33 from 1967 with our early morning reading of 47. Look for sun and 70 for the rest of the day and not as cool overnight. For the weekend, expect mostly cloudy skies with rain possible and highs in the 60s. Sunday we’ll see sun and 70s!
