Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive ~ February 2011
The Father Fred Foundation invites everyone to be a part of the 17th annual Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive which takes place February 11-20.
Donors have two drop-off sites to choose from: the Garfield Plaza parking lot (near Agave Mexican Restaurant), and Fox Motors (US 31 South, across from Meijer). Drop-off hours will be 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. weekdays and weekends 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. A complimentary ski pass from the Homestead Resort will be available to all who donate food at the Fox Motors location!
“To help increase cash gifts to this year’s drive, challengers made a $75,000 cash match challenge,” said David Abeel, Director of Development. “Any donation made during the entire month of February will count toward this total.”
If your schedule won’t allow a trip to the store, consider a cash donation. Because the Father Fred Foundation buys food in large lots, they are able to stretch every dollar by 30% or more through bulk purchases.
The Foundation strives to serve residents of the Grand Traverse region (Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties) who have an emergency need. If the individual or family has exhausted all state and/or federal assistance, the Foundation is committed to doing what it can to help the situation. Many who come to the Foundation have a temporary crisis due to unforeseen circumstances.
