Heartwood Furniture and Fine Art Show

The annual Heartwood Furniture and Fine Art Show will be held (as always) Father’s Day weekend (June 16, 17 & 18) at the Old Art Building in Leland. The show features handcrafted wood furniture and fine art produced in northern Michigan.

Matt JoppichThis year the show will include furniture craftsmen Joe Buteyn (Shaker inspired furniture with a contemporary/Asian flair, Chip Gadek (contemporary art furniture with a whimsical slant), Matt Joppich (traditional and highly refined organic furniture in various domestic and exotic woods), Jim Rantala (traditional 17th and 18th century handmade utilitarian and folk furniture) and Joe Stearns (contemporary furniture featuring flowing organic forms of elegant simplicity).

The fine arts will be represented by Jerry Gates (wide range of abstracts and finely detailed Michigan landscapes in oil pastels), Roberta Van Haitsma (primarily oil paintings of Parisian cityscapes), Lyle Jamieson (highly refined wood turnings and sculptures), Angela Saxon (landscapes in oil with a focus on expressive movement), Richard Schemm (Internationally known multimedia artist), Angela Schuler (abstract oil paintings of dramatic energy) and Carol Spaulding (expressive soft pastel land and garden scapes).

Friday, June 16, 1-9 pm
Saturday, June 17, 10 am-8 pm
Sunday, June 18, 10 am-4 pm
