Leelanau Almanac: Week of April 8 – 14

Well Spring has sprung in northern Michigan, maybe a little too soon? We will still get the cherry blossom, but the early spring means early buds, and the cancelation of Cherry blossom tour. Another welcome sign of spring in norther Michigan is the opening our the beloved Cheese shanty in Fishtown. I don’t know about you, but I already have my lunch date lined up for opening day tomorrow. Speaking of food, we learned that the Traverse City/Leelanau area has been touted as the #1 Food Haven. We also had some updates to the story from last week regrading ownership of Sugar Loaf.
And, in case you missed it, Leelanau Communications hosted Shady Lane Cellar’s Adam Satchwell as he participated in Michigan by the Bottle’s Tweet & Taste.
