Glen Lake Narrows Bridge

Our photo is Looking over the Narrows and while most of her photos are from Benzie County, she does have a number of cool shots of Leelanau and the Sleeping Bear in her photostream.

The Enterprise reports that the existing bridge will be demolished very soon and that the Narrows will be closed for quite a while – not expected to be fully complete until next October!

While the bridge work continues, motorists are advised to use County Roads 616 and 675 to work their way around the east shore of Big Glen lake, or 616, M-109 and M-209 on the west side of Little Glen. Either way, the trip from the Narrows bridge to Glen Arbor will be more than twice as long during construction.

No idea if the entire bridge will be closed until then but it’s probably best to plan alternative routes for a while!
