(still) waiting for sugar loafWe posted this photo in April of 2008 after Brad Lutz announced he was pulling out of a purchase agreement.

While we’re waiting around for something (anything) to happen, we made a new poll asking if you are still interested in the future of Sugar Loaf. It’s an issue we’ve been tracking on Leelanau.com for years, but sometimes we wonder if folks would just as soon forget about what was once a vibrant part of Leelanau’s economy.

In addition to a feature on the new Traverse City Restaurant Week we have a photo challenge asking you Where in Leelanau is it?

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. What better way to share your love of Leelanau than with some beach glass & stone jewelry from Aurora Borealis Designs. Annie also specializes in custom jewelry for that perfect holiday gift.

Visit Annie online or at her Leland Studio overlooking Fishtown for original beach glass and “Leland Blue” jewelry.

Greater BuffaloOn Michigan in Pictures we celebrated Michigan’s 174th Birthday, checked in on New Year’s Resolutions and shared the fascinating story of the Steamer Greater Buffalo one of the last, largest, and fastest sidewheel passenger ships on the Great Lakes that grew up to be an aircraft carrier!

Over at Absolute Michigan, we have some ideas to help you celebrate Valentine’s Day the Michigan way and a great feature with photos & video about Earl Young’s Charlevoix cottages. If you have a Michigan business, you can add your link for free to Michigan’s largest site for Michigan news & links, absolutemichigan.com!
