On Absolute Michigan we worried about whether Tom Izzo would become the new coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, something that thankfully will not happen. We also noted that Rhubarb is ready to pick and have some recipes and info about it from Taste the Local Difference! On Michigan in Pictures we took you Parasailing at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, up close to the Red-Tailed Hawk and featured probably the best photo of the Tahquamenon Falls we’ve ever seen! | If you’d like to sponsor Leelanau.com and our weekly emails, please contact us at lci@leelanau.com or call 231-421-1172. Leelanau.com is a great way to connect with locals and travelers alike! This week’s photo is titled Lucky Kids and was taken by J.Renee.Photo. Ken Scott snapped this shot of water quality monitoring through Adopt-a-Stream on last week’s only truly sunny day. The rain has been great for crops and our overall vegetation though. Definitely check out his set of photos – they’re great! It’s already 71 degrees under partly cloudy skies at 8:45 AM at Leelanau Coffee Roasting in Glen Arbor. The record high for a June 18th was 96 in 1995, and we’ll be much closer to that than to the record low of 37 degrees in 1969 today with highs near 90 and a chance of showers (potentially a thunderstorm as well). More stormy weather is possible overnight but Saturday will bring sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 70s and west winds gusting up to 30. More sun and 70s in in the forecast for Sunday making this a great weekend to get out and enjoy the Leelanau Peninsula! Click for the news & weather from last year! |
