Leelanau Almanac for the Week of October 5-11, 2006
Rainbow Maples by Andrew McFarlane
News from the Week
The top story was the launch of an online art auction to benefit Fishtown preservation efforts. Leelanau.com and Absolute Michigan donated the setup and you can view and bid on artwork and photography from Keith Burnham, Walter McCord, Dorothy Forton, Melanie Parke, Mary Lou Ingwersen, Ellie Golden, Mary Fuscaldo, Richard Kooyman, Malcolm Chatfield, Becky Thatcher, Phil Krzeminski, Tobin Sprout and Al Rollings. There was also a report that student numbers at Leelanau County school districts (with the exception of Leland School) have continued their overall trend of decline and a nice photos of fall color along a country road near Northport.
