September 2008
Hey, look out! Fall is coming down the road!! Post color reports from your area in the comments below along with cool fall photos, events or whatever other observations you have.
The photo is by Jim Sorbie and is part of his Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore set of photos!
September 11, 2008: We are beginning to see the first glimmers of fall color. The maple tree outside my office window has pink highlights and a walk through Larry Mawby’s vineyard revealed grapes that were purpling up nicely!
Check out this post for some cool pictures of waterspouts over Lake Michigan.
September 18, 2008: Cool weather has pushed the color along a bit and we’re seeing some nice reds and oranges scattered amongst the green. We’re still expecting peak color about the 2nd weekend of October, but from here on out, there should be nice color to be found.
Now’s the time of year to be thinking about impulse trips – either overnight or just for the day, because fall is one of the best times to explore the county.
